Caldera Wolfpack Softball 7-5 Crater

Caldera defeated Crater 7-5 in a competitive non-league softball matchup at home on June 2nd. The victory keeps the Bend, Oregon team's impressive season rolling as they compete in the Intermountain Conference (5A). With the win, Caldera improved to 25-1 overall and maintains their dominant 17-1 conference record. The close contest provided valuable preparation as the postseason approaches, testing the team against quality opposition from outside their league. Crater proved to be a worthy challenger, keeping pace throughout the game before Caldera pulled away for the two-run victory. The non-league scheduling allows coach and players to face different styles and competition levels that could prove beneficial in playoff scenarios. At 25-1, Caldera has established themselves as one of the premier programs in Central Oregon this spring. The team will look to carry this momentum into their final regular season games and beyond. With conference play winding down and the postseason on the horizon, every game provides important experience for what promises to be a deep playoff run.
