Caldera Wolfpack Football 26-9 Bend

Caldera picked up a statement road win Friday night, defeating rival Bend 26-9 in Intermountain Conference (5A) football at Bend, Oregon to open league play in convincing fashion. The Volcanoes controlled the game from the start, building enough of a cushion to walk away with a 17-point victory against a familiar opponent from just across town. The win moves Caldera to 3-1 on the season and 1-0 in conference play, a strong position heading into the heart of the schedule. Beating Bend on its home field carries extra weight in Central Oregon, and the Volcanoes answered the challenge with a performance that should turn heads around the Intermountain Conference. The defense held Bend to single digits, while the offense generated enough production to keep the Lava Bears at arm's length throughout. Caldera will look to build on this momentum next week as conference competition heats up and every result carries greater weight in the standings.
