Bend Senior Lava Bears Softball 5-6 Redmond
A late rally wasn't quite enough as Bend softball dropped a heartbreaker to Redmond 6-5 on Thursday evening at Redmond High School. The narrow defeat continued a challenging spring campaign for the Lava Bears in what proved to be one of their most competitive outings in recent weeks.
Both teams traded scoring opportunities throughout the contest, with neither squad able to pull away decisively. The one-run margin reflected the evenly matched nature of the Central Oregon rivalry, as Bend battled back from multiple deficits to keep the game within reach.
Despite the loss, the Lava Bears showed resilience in keeping pace with their league opponents. The performance demonstrated the kind of fight that has characterized much of their season, even when results haven't gone their way.
With the defeat, Bend moves to 7-14 overall and 7-9 in conference play. The Lava Bears will look to bounce back quickly as they continue league competition, seeking to build on the positive elements from Thursday's narrow setback.
