Thurston defeated Summit 4-1 in Tuesday's baseball matchup at Summit's home field in Bend, Oregon. The Storm, who compete in the Intermountain Conference (5A), struggled to generate offense against the visiting Colts in the non-league contest. Summit managed just one run despite entering the game with strong momentum from their successful spring campaign. The Storm had been playing solid baseball throughout the season, but Thurston's pitching proved challenging to solve on this afternoon. Summit's lineup, which had been productive in recent weeks, couldn't find the timely hitting needed to mount a comeback after falling behind early. The loss drops Summit to 19-7 overall while maintaining their strong 15-3 conference record. With the regular season winding down, the Storm remain in excellent position within the Intermountain Conference standings. Summit will look to bounce back from this setback as they prepare for the final stretch of games before postseason play begins. The team's strong overall record suggests they're well-positioned for a deep playoff run despite Tuesday's disappointing result.
