Summit Storm Softball 3-21 Churchill
Churchill's explosive offense overwhelmed Summit in the Storm's softball season opener Thursday afternoon, claiming a 21-3 victory at Summit High School. The visiting Lancers jumped on Summit early and never looked back, piling on runs throughout the contest to spoil the Storm's home debut.
Summit managed to plate three runs against Churchill's pitching staff but couldn't find an answer for the Lancers' potent lineup. The lopsided score reflected Churchill's ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities while keeping Summit's bats largely quiet after their early production.
Despite the challenging result, opening day provided valuable experience for a Summit squad beginning the 2026 campaign. The Storm now sit 0-1 as they prepare to build on the lessons learned from their first competitive action.
Summit will look to bounce back quickly as the spring season continues. The Storm have plenty of opportunities ahead to establish their identity and develop the chemistry needed for success in the weeks to come.
