Sisters handed the La Pine girls soccer team a tough 8-0 defeat Thursday evening in a Mountain Valley Conference (3A) league match played in La Pine, Oregon. The Hawks were unable to find an answer for a Sisters side that controlled the game from the opening whistle, putting eight goals past La Pine's backline and keeping a clean sheet throughout. The lopsided scoreline drops La Pine to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in conference play, leaving the Hawks with ground to make up in the league standings as the schedule deepens into fall. Defensive breakdowns proved costly on a night when Sisters' attack worked efficiently in front of goal. Despite the result, the young Hawks still have time to build cohesion and settle into their defensive shape before the next challenge arrives. La Pine will look to bounce back and earn its first conference win when they return to action next week.
