A scoreless stalemate was all that separated the Summit Storm and Mountain View on Tuesday, as the Bend, Oregon-based girls soccer program played to a 0-0 draw on the road in an Intermountain Conference (5A) league matchup. Neither side could find the back of the net, leaving both teams to split the points in what figures to be one of the more competitive rivalries in the conference this fall. For Summit, the result pushes their overall record to 6-0-3, with the Storm still unbeaten on the season. Their conference mark stands at 4-0, meaning Summit remains at or near the top of the Intermountain Conference standings heading into the final stretch of the regular season. Holding a clean sheet on the road against a rival program is no small accomplishment, and the defense deserves credit for keeping things level. Summit will look to convert chances more consistently as they push toward the postseason.
