Redmond Panthers Girls Volleyball 2-1 Grants Pass

Redmond's girls volleyball team opened its 2026 season on a winning note Friday night, defeating Grants Pass 2-1 in a non-league home match at Redmond, Oregon. The Intermountain Conference (5A) Panthers used the early-season contest to shake off the rust and collect a hard-fought victory against a competitive Grants Pass squad. Winning in three sets suggested this was a closely contested night, with Grants Pass pushing Redmond to find answers before the Panthers ultimately sealed the result. Non-league openers like this one serve a real purpose. Coaches get to evaluate lineups, rotations, and serve-receive patterns against an unfamiliar opponent before conference play begins, and Friday gave Redmond plenty of useful film to work with. The Panthers move to 1-0 on the young season with momentum in their corner. Redmond will look to build on this result as it continues its non-league schedule before the Intermountain Conference slate gets underway.
