A clutch performance on Friday afternoon lifted Redmond softball past crosstown rival Bend 6-5 in a nail-biting league contest at home. The Panthers battled through a back-and-forth affair that showcased the competitive nature of Central Oregon softball.

Redmond's offense found timely hitting when it mattered most, managing to stay one step ahead of a persistent Bend squad that refused to go quietly. The visiting Bears mounted several scoring threats but couldn't quite complete the comeback against determined Panthers pitching.

The victory brings Redmond to 6-14 overall and 4-11 in conference play, providing a much-needed boost as the spring season enters its final stretch. For a team that has faced adversity this year, Friday's win demonstrated the fight and character that coaches love to see from their players.

With league standings still taking shape, every game carries significance. The Panthers will look to build momentum from this hard-fought victory as they prepare for their next conference matchup in the coming week.
