Mountain View Cougars Softball 6-7 Caldera

A late surge wasn't enough to lift Mountain View past Caldera in Wednesday's softball showdown, as the Cougars fell 7-6 on the road. The Bend, Oregon squad battled hard in the Intermountain Conference (5A) matchup but came up just short against their league rivals.

Mountain View trailed for much of the contest before mounting a spirited comeback attempt in the final innings. The Cougars managed to close the gap and put pressure on Caldera's defense, but ultimately couldn't find the tying run when it mattered most.

The loss drops Mountain View to 17-5 overall and 12-5 in conference play, though they remain well-positioned heading into the final stretch of the regular season. Despite the setback, the Cougars showed the kind of resilience that has defined their strong campaign.

With just a handful of games remaining before the postseason, Mountain View will look to bounce back quickly and maintain their solid standing in the competitive Intermountain Conference race.
