Mountain View's offense came alive in a crucial baseball matchup, defeating Redmond 9-5 at home on Tuesday to even their conference record at the midway point of league play.

The Cougars jumped on the Panthers early and maintained control throughout, using timely hitting and solid pitching to secure their fifth win of the season. Mountain View's balanced attack produced nine runs while the defense limited Redmond's scoring opportunities despite allowing five runs.

The victory moves Mountain View to 5-8 overall and, more importantly, 5-5 in conference play. With league standings tightening as the season progresses, Tuesday's win keeps the Cougars squarely in the hunt for a playoff position.

Mountain View showed the type of complete team effort that has been missing during stretches of their challenging season. The offensive production and defensive execution they displayed against Redmond will need to continue as they face a demanding schedule ahead.

The Cougars will look to build momentum from this conference victory as they prepare for their next league contest.
