Crook County Cowboys Softball 10-12 Caldera

A back-and-forth offensive showcase at Prineville ended with heartbreak for the Cowboys Tuesday evening. Crook County's softball team battled Caldera in an Intermountain Conference slugfest that saw 22 total runs, but the visiting team pulled away for a 12-10 victory.
The Cowboys showed fight throughout the contest, matching Caldera run-for-run in what became one of the highest-scoring games of the season in Prineville, Oregon. Both teams found success at the plate, turning the Intermountain Conference (5A) matchup into an offensive clinic.
Despite the loss, Crook County demonstrated the kind of competitive spirit that has kept them in close games throughout the spring campaign. The Cowboys' ability to generate double-digit runs against quality conference opposition shows promise for the program's development.
The setback drops Crook County to 6-11 overall and 2-8 in conference play. With limited games remaining in the regular season, the Cowboys will look to build on the offensive production while tightening up defensively in their next outing.
